1878-CC $1 Morgan Dollar--65 Degree Clockwise Rotated Dies--MS64 PCGS. Only a few Morgan dollar issues are known with dramatically rotated dies. The 1878-CC is among these, but even this Carson City date is infrequently encountered with rotated dies. This lustrous and essentially brilliant near-Gem has a penetrating strike and pleasantly smooth surfaces. 1883-O $1 Morgan Dollar--Rotated Dies--AU58 ANACS. VAM-52 EDS. The dies are rotated approximately 40 degrees counterclockwise, very uncommon for a Morgan Dollar. A sharply struck and conservatively graded example, the luster is essentially complete and the rich honey-gray toning is original. Sold for $345.
