Discovered by A. George Mallis, July 1964.
This coin is a Top 100 Morgan VAM.

1A III2 1 C3a (D with Tail)
Reverse C3a - Die break on D in DOLLAR to form tail.
COMMENTS: Later die state of VAM-25 where an exciting die break forms as a small lump of metal on the bottom of the D of DOLLAR. Part of the Top 100 set, and recently featured in VamView Issue #2, the Donkey Tail is a coin even non-vam collectors want to own. It is possible to cherry pick these coins and they are often found in VF-XF condition. AU coins are very tough to find. Mint state Donkey Tails are truly ultra rare!
