This coin is a Hit List 40 Morgan VAM.

Obverse III2 6 – Clashed die with faint partial incuse n of In from reverse next to Liberty head neck. Double diagonal die clash from neck. Later die state than VAM-9A.
Reverse B2a – Normal die of B2 type with centered small II CC mint mark and parallel arrow feathers.

  1. This obverse die was used on 1880-CC VAM-7 & 1880-CC VAM-7A; then polished down and re-used on 1880-CC VAM-8, 1880-CC VAM-9 and 1880-CC VAM-9A
  2. Later die state of 1880-CC VAM-7, 1880-CC VAM-7A is found with double and single neck clashes.

Note the lack of 'chatter' within the loops of the second 8 which is the main pick up point between the VAM 4 and the VAM 7 or VAM 7A.
